As a 1960s teenager focused on solving local water pollution (ie raw sewage piped directly from every beach of our island habitat), I recall my school group’s frustration with the health department’s refusal to take the issue seriously. A few decades later, Washington state’s governor urged a BC tourism boycott because our shit was polluting the Juan de Fuca Strait that separated us. Finally in 2020, Victoria got around to building its treatment plant.
In the 1970s, the production and use of plastics hit the ground running. I was lucky to have travelled to India in that decade, before plastic bags were a thing there. Though that ancient land was plagued with smog and open sewage, one still drank chai from clay cups that were discarded from open train windows to disintegrate back into the reddish-brown earth beside the tracks. No unsightly piles of plastic garbage that are now everywhere in that technologically boomed (and doomed?) nation.
Here in the West, it’s only one tiny step forward that retailers have stopped providing plastic bags— too little, too late: what of the yogurt, shampoo, laundry detergent, motor fluid containers etcetera, sold every day of every year in every store of every town and city of the world? We know that recycling efforts are a joke. And never mind the deadly hazards our man-made refuse to fish, birds and mammals. As well as to us: https:// .org/defender/microplastics-male-reproductive-system-testis-semen-ehn/ Then there’s the problem of chemical toxins in our food and water; here’s just one reveal of the drinking water hazard in “first world” environs: https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/world-health-organization-pfas-drinking-water-cd/
But all of these utterly valid, ecologically devastating facts are conveniently swept under the rug by the false alarmism of “climate change.” The slogan was adopted to replace the previous concept of “global warming” — the idea becoming too difficult to sustain due to the natural, globally uncooperative fluctuations in in temporal weather conditions. So, any and all changes are to be perceived as ominous climate instabilities due to “carbon emissions” in turn blamed upon our chief modes of land and air transportation, and our naturally carnivorous diet. Hence the current attempts to ultimately confine us to “15 minute cities” in which we’ll eat bugs instead of cows. The climate change agenda is already appropriating farmers’ lands and outlawing meat production, most notably right now in the Netherlands. HOW CAN WE LET THEM BE GETTING AWAY WITH ALL THIS?
If you’ve not seen this clip already, here you go. It puts the complete lie to the scam:
Hats off also to Tony Heller, whose droll narratives have been exposing the climate nonsense for years. And to Patrick Moore, co-founder of Greenpeace. “The mission,” he claims, “once noble, had become corrupted. Political agendas and fear mongering trumped science and truth.” And so it is with “climate change”. I cannot but always put that obnoxious phrase in quotation marks.
Switching gears slightly, and you’ll have to excuse the pun; it turns out we have not only “vaccine hesitancy”. Now we have “electric car hesitancy”. I made a screen shot of this note that came up the other day on my local weather channel:
I did wonder just what is “being done about that” so clicked the box and to my relief, they’re merely (so far) talking about placing more charging stations in non-urban regions. But any time that word is applied to a thing they want us to do, mandates are just around the corner. Or in this case, the outlawing of gasoline-run automobiles. If they continue along this path, we’ll be forced into lithium-mined, battery operated machines that suck their energy from fossil fuels and hydroelectric power. And don’t even mention, or investigate, the atrocious human suffering that goes into mining the minerals for those batteries.
Intentional erasure of meaningful and necessary environmental conservation, in favour of the fictional trope of “climate change” is equal in its deception to the “war on terrorism.” It is invisible, imaginary and has no end to its destructive reach, all during which the actual, physical, earthly environment is allowed to continue to worsen.
What do you think? Do you remember your own good reasons for thinking of yourself as an environmentalist? Where you aware that your concerns were being switched and baited by “global warming” and then “climate change”? I’m reluctant to admit that for myself, full understanding of this “rich man’s trick” has dawned on me only fairly recently. They are sneaky, those bastards.
Absolutely, right on. Only a few short years ago I was campaigning for the Green candidate in my rural region. Now I am disgusted and betrayed by the old 'left', esp the NDP. I don't trust any of the environmentalists anymore, even though I still care about decreasing waste and protecting the earth. The recent arsonist forest fires are the last straw.
my story too, as a child of the 60s. and I went to the first Earth Day celebration in Philadelphia.
now it looks like the last Bastion of effective censorship is geoengineering? check out Reinette Senum's substack. She is actually pursuing lawsuits against the perpetrators of chemtrails. And her stack may be targeted by the credit card companies for Destruction via funding blocks - that part is not clear yet but is under discussion. So the comments on this article are a wonderful new source of head spin:
