Happy as Pigs in Mud

... because their California Dreams (our nightmares) are finally coming true.

They’re thrilled. Tickled pink. Happy as pigs in mud as players in California’s demolition. These two monsters are in on it and can barely suppress their delight.

Gavin is so pleased to be in cahoots with Hawaii’s traitorous Governor Josh Green (whose own speech and body language betrayed him following Lahaina’s “wildfire” disaster). And he’s excited like a small boy, at their plans around “land speculation” whatever those are.

And you must see this (also time-stamped; ignore the captions as they appear on Peggy’s screen as they’re out of sync; just see and hear):

The destruction continuing to ravage Southern California is so awful, even to try to imagine oneself having to deal with. The cost is in the billions but human suffering, if it could be measured sails past trillions. Whole lives and livelihoods wiped out but left to patch together a makeshift existence without any comfort of the familiar.

As was and is the case for the survivors of Lahaina, for which we never were given a realistic death toll. Far fewer are being killed in Los Angeles (as far as we know) but displacement and homelessness is astronomical by comparison. But the setup, weather incongruities, response failures (no water, late or no evacuation alerts), the people fleeing their cars to save their lives; all of this is a repeat, writ larger, of that Hawaiian coastal town in August 2023. And this, just months after the hurricane that just as suspiciously devastated the SouthEastern US. They want lots of us dead, but even more, they want our land.

To close this saga, I’ve transcribed the core of what Neil Oliver had to say a year ago about so-called “conspiracy theories”:

From then on, the label worked for decades as the means to make thinking people too scared to speak up when they smelt a rat. Let 202[5] be the year of clearing out the rubbish; the long overdue year when the sell-by-date labels [think climate denier; anti-vaxxer, domestic terrorists, far right radical, islamophobe, transphobe, anti-semite, etc.], conspiracy theorist among them, are cast into the Dustbin of History.

Amen to that.
