I don't read Celia, I don't like/trust her... the things she said about the students protesting the Gazan Holocaust, right at the beginning of US student opposition, was vile and deliberately wrong. Sorry to say that to you. Not saying she's never interesting or has something truthful to say. Sigh. What times we live in, eh. I hope I'm wrong, and that she made a mistake, but it felt like not.
I don't recall what she said about that. But I do 'like/trust' Celia, because of her relentless self-reflection: where she stands is continually undergoing re-examination. And the while Israel/Gaza trip feels impossible to get to the bottom of. I'm trying to finish my own post on it, hopefully tomorrow.
My understanding of Israel/Gaza is that the Palestinians have lived on that land for a thousand years or so, Israel was “installed” after WWII, ON THEIR LAND, and Israel proceeded to take more, and more, and more, and then began to attempt to drive the Pal’s off their own land and take over, which was resisted, of course, and then Israel began a Genocide on the Pal’s, and because the US Deep State is sooooo long-tied to Israel, and because there is VAST amounts of OIL underneath the entire Middle East, hence the drive to eradicate Syria, Afghanistan, Libya— there were seven countries on the List— the US is a staunch ally (and tool ) of Israel to the point of sending BILLIONS of our tax money (US people’s) to support not just hegemony in many places in the world, but to Israel and also to Ukraine (whose inner turmoil was lit on fire by the US, and then FUNDED, same thing, BILLIONS of dollars, just to mess with Russia, who might wipe our faces with their military!)… The US Deep State is so paranoid, so psychotic that it goes around killing everyone they think is a threat, or an obstacle to their global domination… I never thought my own country would be like this!!!! Horrible, horrible. There are several very good sources of information you can hear, particularly Max Blumenthal, of the Grey Zone, often a guest on an interesting show called “Judging Freedom” hosted by (ret) Judge Andrew Napolitano. Max isn’t there weekly, but almost weekly, and is, ironically enough, Jewish, I think on his mother’s side… Anyway. I used to like Celia, too, until when US students finally figured out that Israel was genociding the Pal’s, and began to have protests, Celia TRASHED them. This was some time ago. The things she said were just nasty. And that wasn’t all about her, but I don’t really remember what else, particularly.
